THE COUPLE THAT PRAYS TOGETHER STAYS TOGETHER.

The Lord our Teacher

“His teaching made a deep impression on them because, unlike the scribes, he taught them with authority.” As Christians we believe that Jesus is the one above all others who can teach us about God. And the God that he reveals to us is a God of infinite love and compassion. At times we, as the Church, move away from this God and create a God of fear and judgement. Our responsibility is to move back very firmly to the God of Jesus. We also believe that Jesus is the one above all others who can teach us about the meaning of human life. He teaches us very clearly that human life is about love. We make it about wealth, or importance, or pleasure and we have to constantly move back to pinning our hopes on love: in marriage; in family life; in our life with one another in the parish community. This is becoming more and more important as our society changes with such speed and can leave us without roots.

Morning Prayer, when together

Lord our God, help us to love you

with all our hearts

and to love all as you love them.

We ask this through Christ our Lord.

 During the day, when apart

Lord, be pleased with the gift of our married love.

Help us to treasure one another

so that our love may radiate to all around us.

We ask this through Christ Our Lord.

 Evening/Night Prayer together

Lord, you invigorate us every day

through the power of your Holy Spirit

Help us to be true to our commitment of love.

We ask this through Christ Our Lord.

Questions for Action for the week

For your marriage: What do you like best about your husband/wife this week?

Find a way of letting her/him know this.

For others: Is there anyone you know who is under stress at present?

How could you bring comfort to this person this week?
